Hidden Hearing’s ‘meet the expert’ series introduces you to just a few of our many hearing care professionals, so you can meet some of our experts who offer personalised care at our nationwide locations. Today, we’re focusing on Rachel Smith – one of our Ear Care Practitioners (who focus on ear wax removal).

In September 2023, I was approached by my manager at Hidden Hearing to see if I would be interested in the role of Ear Care Practitioner. I was working in an administrative role, and had expressed my desire to progress within Hidden Hearing so it was a no-brainer! A few months, later I was qualified and covering clinics all across the South of England.

Two years on, and it's the best decision I made. I am now permanently located in four clinics in the South: Broadstairs, Canterbury, Margate and Sevenoaks.

I love the role, I love helping people and providing a service of care. But most importantly, I love helping our customers hear better.

My do's and don'ts for healthy ears!

“Simply… do nothing! Leave your ears alone! They are self-cleaning and do not like being poked around with cotton buds. If you produce a lot of ear wax, the best care is using Earol® once a month and avoid submerging your head and ears under water for too long! You can visit me or your nearest Ear Care Practitioner every 6–12 months for a consultation and a hearing screening.”

You can book your ear wax removal appointment here.
