Is your hearing being affected by ear wax?

Hearing loss, pain or discomfort in your ear may be signs of ear wax build-up. Ear wax can be relatively innocuous, but in some cases it can have a real impact on your quality of life.

Having problematic ear wax removed is an important part of your ear health, and overall wellbeing.

An estimated 2.3 million people in the UK suffer with ear wax problems annually1. This figure is probably higher since many ignore ear wax problems and it is more likely to affect older adults.

How can I get my ear wax removed?

If you are suffering with ear problems, a simple procedure to have your wax removed could improve your hearing ability almost immediately.

We use a micro-suction procedure, which is non-invasive and painless. This method doesn’t require any water being squirted into your ear, like some other methods. It involves a low-pressure suction probe being inserted into the ear which will remove excess wax and debris. This latest technology means your ear wax removal will be quick and effective.

We specialise in safe, quick and comfortable micro-suction ear wax removal.

Request an appointment today and one of our highly trained hearing specialists can help. They will remove your ear wax, improving your hearing.

Can my GP remove my ear wax?

In September 2020, a government minister confirmed that the NHS would no longer be offering ear wax removal as a core service. This means that you might not be able to get your ear wax removed at your local GP surgery, even if you used to in the past. We offer ear wax removal as an alternative, private service.

How much does ear wax removal cost?

Prices start from £60, for both ears.

What if I have hard or impacted wax?

If your ear wax has been building up for a long period of time and has become impacted, we might recommend using oil for around one week prior to us removing it.

If the wax is impacted, this will usually be spotted by your GP or one of our hearing care experts prior to your ear wax removal appointment.
