It's homemade soup day! A great way that may help prevent hearing loss is nutrition. Read on for great soup recipes that may help get your hearing health on a good start to 2020.

To celebrate this day we have complied a list of soups that may be great for maintaining your hearing health. These five soups are rich in folate and omega-3 fatty acids. These nutrients ensures that the cochlea (the part of your inner ear where sound is converted to signals that get sent to your brain) is nourished with a healthy blood flow.

1. Salmon Chowder

This includes clam juice and salmon, which has three times the hearing-healthy omega-3. You still get the familiar hint of clam, but you also get to enjoy the nutrition and taste of salmon.

2. Beef and Cabbage Stew

Although this may not be a soup it is technically a stew. However you can't go wrong with beef and cabbage stew, right? It's a hearty bowl of warm winter goodness, which is perfect for this time of year! Plus, this meal comes with three strong sources of folate: cabbage, carrots, and celery. It will keep you nice a toasty this February and it will increase a healthy blood flow to the cochlea.

3. Four-Bean Chili

Now I know this is a soup list but chili kind of a soup. This four-bean chili is a full of folate with its pinto beans, black beans, navy beans, and kidney beans. Can't go wrong with all these beans right?

4. Easy Fish Stew

This rich stew includes celery, carrots and tomatoes, full of folate and omega-3 fatty acids (anchovies, white-fleshed fish). Your cochlea won't know what's coming.

5. Squash Soup

Are you surprised there is another soup on this list? This butternut squash soup is full of ginger, nutmeg, and honey to provide just the right amount of hearty squash foundation. Plus, squash is a great source of folate — hearing health never tasted so delicious!

With all the folate and those omega 3 fatty acids in this list your cochlea will be more than healthy than ever!
