On his ninetieth birthday, the Duke of Edinburgh was presented with a pair of ear defenders by the charity ‘Action on Hearing Loss’ (formerly known as the RNID – Royal National Institute for Deaf People) and in his own style thanked the well wishers, joking ''Can you get Radio 3 on this?''
