RITE Hearing Aids, What Are They?

15/08/2011

RITE stands for receiver in the ear.  An RITE hearing aid is amongst the latest in technology and is formed of two parts; the hearing aid which sits comfortably behind or on top of the ear and a thin discrete wire which connects to the receiver in the ear canal.

The benefit of wearing an RITE is that this system can be worn whilst leaving the ear canal open, which many people find to be of more comfort than a traditional ear mould as found in many BTE’s (behind the ear hearing aids).

Today’s advances in hearing care technology means that a device as small as an RITE can cater for those struggling with severe losses offering a great deal of hearing restoration.  An RITE can also be a very discrete choice with a wide range of unit colour’s designed to blend in with your hair colour, or, should you wish to make a statement, casings are even available in printed designs!

Two reasons to choose an RITE hearing aid

  • Comfort – RITEs are amongst the most comfortable with many people forgetting they are wearing them
  • Clarity – as the receiver is in your ear, it’s closer to your ear drum than any other system.  This means it requires less volume resulting in increased battery life but most importantly, increases the clarity of the sounds you hear.
