Hearing aid trouble shooting guide - Episode 3

21/10/2011

In the last of the series of our trouble shooting guides we will address possible explanations on what to do if you are experiencing intermittent sound or something similar to a whirring noise.

Possible cause no. 1 - The battery contacts are dirty or corroded.  Possible solution - Open and close the battery door several times, and clean the battery contacts with a soft dry cotton-bud.

Possible cause no. 2 - The battery is running low.  Possible solution - Fit a new battery.

Possible cause no. 3 - There is moisture in the hearing aid.  Possible solution - Take out the battery and put your hearing aid in a drying kit.  OR, ask your local hearing centre to check it.

This is the last in our current series of trouble shooting guides and we hope you enjoyed it.  Should there be any other topics you would like to see included in our next series, simply email us your thoughts!
